SCAN Lab Participates in UCLA CART’s Milestone Autism Research Celebration

The SCAN Lab was honored to participate in “50+ Years of Autism Discovery & 20+ Years of UCLA CART”, a landmark event celebrating decades of groundbreaking autism research and collaboration at UCLA. Held by the UCLA Center for Autism Research and Treatment (CART), the event brought together leading scientists, clinicians, and the CART/UCLA community to reflect on the past, present, and future of autism research.

As part of the celebration, Dr. Shulamite Green, Principal Investigator of the SCAN Lab, delivered a presentation highlighting the lab’s multidisciplinary work on sensory processing in autism and related clinical groups. Dr. Green shared recent findings from outr lab’s neuroimaging, psychophysiological, and behavioral research, emphasizing how a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying atypical sensory experiences can inform the development of personalized, targeted interventions. The SCAN Lab’s work aims to improve quality of life by advancing more effective and individualized treatments for those with sensory processing challenges.

The SCAN Lab is proud to be part of this collaborative research community and looks forward to contributing to the next era of discovery and advocacy in autism science.
